Call Before You Dig

Sometimes excavating is required for projects outside your home, such as putting in fence posts, planting trees, or building an addition on your home. If any of the work you are doing involves excavation, it is important to locate underground infrastructure before breaking ground to avoid hitting any underground services. Underground services, including powerlines, might be buried on your property. Accidentally hitting one can cause property damage, injury or even death.

Plan before you dig and be sure to contact Ontario One Call to have service lines located. To book a free appointment, contact Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255 or visit www.ontarioonecall.ca at least five business days before you plan to dig.

When you're planning a home project, don't just think about what's underground. Before starting any work close to powerlines, make sure you know where they are and make sure that you are a least three meters away from them. If you have any doubt about the safety of your project, please call our Customer Service Centre at 905-825-9400.
