Back Up Generation
Less than 50 kW
For backup generation less than 50kW whose sole purpose is to supply the facility loads when utility power supply is not available. No process or forms are required by Oakville Hydro. ESA inspection is still required.

50 kW or greater
- A declaration form for emergency backup generators 50kW or larger, whose sole purpose is to supply facility loads when utility power supply is not available will need to be completed and submitted to Oakville Hydro
- Declaring a generator as solely emergency backup may reduce requirements for SCADA monitoring, settlement charges and a connection agreement
- This form is NOT for generators that may be used for load displacement including global adjustment curtailment and peak shaving
- Send a copy of the declaration form to generation@oakvillehydro.com.
