(Oakville, ON) May 30, 2018 – Oakville Hydro is pleased to receive the Canadian Electricity Association’s (CEA’s) Centre of Excellence Award for its innovative efforts and progressive work in developing and implementing its Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). Oakville Hydro was presented the award at a ceremony in Ottawa on May 29, 2018.

As part of its commitment to innovate and keep up with the pace of change, Oakville Hydro has implemented the Distribution State Estimation (DSE), a first in Ontario. DSE provides Control Room operators continuous detailed and precise assessments of grid characteristics. The new software tool is being deployed as part of the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) from Survalent Technology Corporation.

“Our team is always looking for ways to bring innovation into every element of our business,” said Rob Lister, President and CEO of Oakville Hydro. “Thank you to the CEA for this acknowledgement and for recognizing progressive projects across Canada.”

“I am delighted to congratulate Oakville Hydro for its ongoing commitment to innovation excellence. Your ADMS project demonstrates your ability to think outside the box and go well beyond incremental improvements, in order to meet the shifting needs and expectations of tomorrow’s customers,” said Sergio Marchi, President and CEO of the CEA.
