The Government of Ontario has introduced a fixed electricity price, known as the COVID-19 Recovery Rate, of 12.8 cents per kWh, which will be automatically applied to all Time-of-Use (TOU) customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Learn more at this link.
Oakville Hydro's rates and services are regulated by the Ontario Energy Board, an independent Ontario provincial government agency. Oakville Hydro, at any time, may have one or more applications before the Ontario Energy Board, and may also be participating in other proceedings initiated by the Ontario Energy Board.
Oakville Hydro has applied to the Ontario Energy Board to increase the amount it charges by $0.21 each month for a typical residential customer beginning on January 1, 2021. Other customers, including businesses, will be affected as well. To view Oakville Hydro's Application, click here.

On December 20, 2019, the Ontario Energy Board approved Oakville Hydro’s Tariff of Rates and Charges effective January 1, 2020. To view the Tariff, click here.
Oakville Hydro is licenced by the Ontario Energy Board to distribute electricity in the Town of Oakville. To view Oakville Hydro’s distribution license, click here. As a condition of license, Oakville Hydro is required to comply the following Codes (collectively the “Codes") approved by the Board.
a) the Affiliate Relationships Code for Electricity Distributors and Transmitters;
b) the Distribution System Code;
c) the Retail Settlement Code; and
d) the Standard Supply Service Code.

Oakville Hydro’s Conditions of Service document describes our operating practices and connection policies. Oakville Hydro is required to comply with its Conditions of Service but may waive a provision of its Conditions of Service in favour of a customer or potential customer. On June 28, 2019, the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines provided information regarding Ontario’s 2018 system-wide electricity supply mix data to electricity suppliers.
