Winter Disconnections – Bill 95, Protecting Vulnerable Energy Consumers Act, 2017

As a long-standing policy, Oakville Hydro does not disconnect residential single-family dwellings during the winter months.  We have since extended our winter disconnection policy to include all residential customers.

This week, legislation was passed that prevents Ontario local distribution companies (LDCs) from disconnecting power for residential customers during winter months (up until April 30).

Oakville Hydro cares about the community it serves, and shares the Government’s concerns for customers that are facing potential service disconnection due to non-payment, during the winter months.
