About Us

Customer Support During the Pandemic

Oakville Hydro has always been supportive of our customers and the community. As the pandemic continues to evolve, and in recognition of the critical and essential services that Oakville Hydro provides, we are taking active measures to support our customers.

Recognizing the economic uncertainty for our customers associated with the pandemic, effective immediately, Oakville Hydro is taking the following actions:

  • Extending the provincial disconnection ban for residential and low-volume, small business customers until July 31, 2020
  • Suspending collection action until further notice
  • Offering Arrears Payment Arrangements in order to provide customers with more time to pay outstanding balances on their account

We recognize that this is a difficult time for everyone and we want our customers to know that we are here in support. Oakville Hydro would also like to remind customers that we offer several programs to those having difficulty paying their electricity bills, including the Ontario Electricity Support Program, AffordAbility Fund and Low-Income Energy Assistance Program. Customers can find more information on these programs on our website.

Oakville Hydro is actively monitoring the pandemic and taking the necessary actions and precautionary measures to manage a reliable electricity supply while maintaining the safety of the community and our workers as our top priority.
