GAS INSPECTION CHECK LIST

• LOCATION:
  • Clear access; close to outside wall; close to plumbing; Code restrictions include: 3-ft from windows, doors, gas meter
  
  
• CHIMNEY LINER:
  • For Conventional gas applications only
  
  
• DEDICATED ELECTRICAL OUTLET:
  • For power vent plug-in; distance from tank location must not exceed 5ft;
  • NO extension cords permitted
  
  
• FLOOR DRAIN:
  • Nearby – uncovered
  
  
• VENTING:
  • Amount of venting pipe approved = 12ft.;
  • Indicate if any extra length required (see below)
  
  

CUSTOMER MUST PROVIDE: (at own expense)*

• MIXER VALVE:
  • Building Code requirement for Plumbing; Regulation 23/04
  
  
• SHUT OFF VALVE:
  • Customer must provide accessible gas line tie-in & shut off valve within 20-25 ft. (this belongs to the house)
  
  
• ADDITIONAL VENTING / FITTINGS, etc.:
  • Customer to pay ESI Contractor if exceeds allowances (some room to move)
  
  

* Customer may use ESI Contractor for additional costs, or use their own contractor.

Note: galvanized fittings not permitted on gas line. Condensation rusts out – gas leak possible.
