| 2005 Residential Water & Wastewater Rates
The 2005 Water Rates and Wastewater Surcharge will
take effect on all bills issued on and after January 1,
2005. Water Rates are increasing by 4.8%, while
Wastewater Surcharges are increasing by 13.1%.
The "Cast Iron Watermain Charge" which appears as a
separate line item on your regular billing is applicable to
all water consumption regardless of usage consumption
levels, for both residential and. commercial/industriaI
ratepayers. There is no increase in this charge in 2005.
The combined impact of the water, cast iron watermain
and wastewater charges for 2005 results in an overall
year-over-year billing increase of 8.2% relative to 2004 rates and charges.
The basis for billing remains the same as in 2004, consisting
of a monthly water and wastewater service charge
based on meter size, a water usage charge based on
100% of water consumption and a wastewater volume
charge based on 100% of water usage up to a maximum
of 60 cubic metres per month per residential unit.
