In the year 2000, Oakville
Town Council approved the appointment of a Board of
Directors to oversee operations of the Oakville Hydro Corporation.
The Board is responsible for all strategic operational decisions
and business management of Oakville's restructured electricity
supply and service company.
In addition to the mayor, who
has been appointed not as a specific individual, but as the head
of Council to represent the shareholder on the board, the board is comprised of:

Gary Burkett is a senior Human Resources executive with over thirty eight years experience with three blue chip corporations: Molson Breweries, Bell Canada and Federal Express Canada. Gary’s HR subject matter expertise is anchored in business acumen with having been President Molson Saskatchewan Breweries together with having served on six commercial Boards and four volunteer Boards.
Gary is presently Managing Director Human Resources with Federal Express Canada and serves on the Oakville Hydro Board and the George Brown College School of Business Advisory Board.
Gary has lived and worked in western, central and eastern Canada and moved to Oakville in 1986. He and his wife have four children.

David Brennan is the Senior Vice President of Law and General Counsel at Ontario Power Generation. He received his Law degree in 1982, and has since become a member of the Law Societies of Alberta and Upper Canada. Before joining Ontario Power Generation in 2006, Mr. Brennan had worked for General Electric, as a Vice President. |

Mayor Rob Burton represents the shareholder, the Town of Oakville. Mayor Burton brings a wealth of business experience and a perspective as a long time Oakville resident to the Board. He has an M.S. degree from Columbia University.

Atul Chandra is currently Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of ICICI Bank Canada. He is a Chartered Accountant, with an MBA from Queen’s University, and he has completed the Directors Education Program of Institute of Corporate Directors. He lives in Oakville with his wife and son.

Ray Green is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town of Oakville. A
30-year veteran with the Town, Mr. Green has held a number of senior positions prior to his role as CAO, including Commissioner of Infrastructure and Transportation Services, Commissioner of Community Services, Director of Public Works and Assistant Director, Operations. Mr.Green is a Professional Engineer with a B.A.Sc., (Civil Engineering), from the University of Toronto.

Ingrid Hann joined De Beers Canada in August 2006 as Vice President, Human Resources. She brings with her extensive experience in many facets of HR including, talent acquisition, talent and performance management, succession planning, organizational development, compensation and benefits administration, health and safety, disability management, corporate governance, employee coaching and counselling, and labour relations.
Prior to joining De Beers, Ingrid spent five years with Sodexho Management Services where she was responsible for the HR function across Canada. An accomplished senior executive, Ingrid’s interests, expertise and management contribution focused on the areas of Human Resources and Administration and in delivering organization and community services excellence. Her proven track record spans various industries including mining, aviation, energy and manufacturing.
Ingrid served as a member of the Board of Governors of Sheridan College, Oakville, from 1992 to 1997.
With a BA in Human Relations and Counselling Studies from the University of Waterloo, Ingrid has also been awarded her CHRP designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario.

Thomas G. Hierlihy retired from KPMG LLP after forty years, thirty-one of which were as a Partner. As a Chartered Accountant, he focused on taxation issues in both the business world and as a lecturer. Mr. Hierlihy’s community experience includes being the treasurer and a board member of both the United Way and the Community Foundation of Oakville.

Howard E. Johnson is presently a Partner with Campbell Valuation Partners Limited and President of Veracap Corporate Finance Limited. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1991, and has a graduate degree in Public Accountancy and a Masters of Business Administration. He is currently involved with many organizations, including Society of Management Accountants of Ontario.

Gary D. Kain obtained a B.A. and a M.B.A. from McMaster University in 1969 and 1973, respectively. In 1975 he obtained a C.A. designation from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. In 1986 he obtained a C.B.V. designation from The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
From 1975 until 1983, Mr. Kain was employed by various Toronto-based investment banking and accounting firms in the business valuation, merger and acquisition and corporate finance fields.
From 1984 until 1988, he was employed by Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (Cancom), a T.S.E. listed satellite communications and broadcasting company. He started with Cancom as V.P. Finance and was subsequently promoted to C.F.O. and then C.O.O.
In 1988 he conceived of and founded Regional Cablesystems Inc., a cable television, high speed internet and telecom company with operations throughout Canada and the Bahamas. At Regional, Mr. Kain was C.E.O. and Chairman of the Board of Directors. The company (which was later renamed Persona Inc.) was listed on the T.S.E. and was included in the T.S.E. 300 index. When sold in 2004 for gross proceeds of $406 million, the company employed 550 individuals, had $175 million in revenue, $75 million in cash flow and provided service to over 1,100 communities in Canada and 15 islands in The Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
In addition to Regional Cablesystems Inc., Mr. Kain is (or has been) a member of the board of directors of the following organizations: Cable Bahamas Ltd., a publicly traded telecommunications company with operations throughout the Bahamas; The Community Foundation of Oakville, a charitable foundation serving the community of Oakville; Norsat International Inc., a T.S.E. listed manufacturer of satellite communications equipment; Sheridan College, a college of technology and advanced learning, with approximately 15,000 full time students; Oakville Hydro Ltd., a local hydro electric power distribution company; Organic Resource Management Inc., a TSX listed provider of vacuum truck services for the collection, treatment and disposal of non-hazardous liquid waste and the production of energy therefrom; and, McMaster University, a research intensive institution of approximately 25,000 graduate and undergraduate students which is ranked as one of the top 100 universities in the world.
He was a member of the Canadian government appointed Local Network Convergence Committee; the author of a number of articles on business valuations; and, a lecturer for the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2007 he was inducted into the McMaster University Alumni Gallery. He is married with two children and resides in Oakville, Ontario.

John Lahey is the President and CEO of Alterna Savings Credit Union and Alterna Bank. He also serves as a Director of Alterna Bank.
Prior to joining Alterna in July 2007, John served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton-based FirstOntario Credit Union for six years. He joined the credit union after spending almost 25 years with CIBC in increasingly senior roles. John’s background includes a broad range of experience. He spent 12 years in Human Resources at CIBC, the last five as lead for the retail and commercial bank. During the latter part of his bank career, John was Region Head for retail and small business in southwestern Ontario (225 branches; $20 billion in assets), and spent two years responsible for CIBC’s 1,350 domestic branches across Canada, which employed more than 20,000 people and handled more than $200 billion in funds under management. Just before leaving CIBC to join the credit union system, John served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer in the E-Commerce division of the bank.
Like many other credit union leaders, John volunteers his time to help build a better credit union system. He is currently Chair of the National Credit Union Special Strategy Committee on Bank Mergers and is a former Director of Selient Technologies Inc. and the CUMIS Group. John is Chair of the ABCP 2008 Limited Partnership, Director of Ficanex Ltd., and a member of the Central 1 Legislative Affairs Committee. He is also a former Governor of the University of Guelph.
John has a BAA from Ryerson University and an MBA from York University. In November 2005, Ryerson University honoured John by awarding him with the coveted Alumni Award of Distinction.

Diana C. Miles is the Director of Professional Development and Competence for the Law Society of Upper Canada where she is responsible for licensing, quality assurance and competence initiatives for Ontario lawyers and paralegals. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1990. Prior to joining the Law Society, Diana held various executive leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer of a large Toronto law firm. Her professional involvement includes membership on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Canadian Legal Information Institute and member of the Chief Justice of Ontario’s Advisory Committee on Professionalism.

John K. Mitchell received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Canada, England and Wales and South Africa.
His work experience includes many years as Senior Vice President Finance and Chief Accountant of Scotiabank and Board member of several of their various operating subsidiaries in Canada, Nassau and Barbados. He remains on the Board of the Scotiabank subsidiary company in Barbados where he was previously Managing Director of their world wide reinsurance operations for several years.
Prior to coming to Canada he was General Manager of the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa where he oversaw international capital projects throughout the world. In 2001 he was awarded a fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ontario.

Marie C. Oswald is presently National Head of Compliance for Edward Jones. Before joining Edwards Jones, she was Director of Investigations and Enforcement for the TSX, and a Vice President at Merrill Lynch Canada Inc. Ms. Oswald was called to the Ontario Bar in 1983.

David J. Pasieka's executive leadership experience spans many of Canada’s leading technology companies including Bell Canada, CNCP Telecommunications, UniTel, MetroNet Communications, AT&T Canada, 724 Solutions, Oasis Technology, eFunds International, Iseemedia, Bulrush Clean Energy and Luxell Technologies. David also consults early stage technology companies in turnaround or growth strategies under the banner of his consulting company Cedarvue Partners. David Pasieka is currently the President and COO of Zerofootprint Software – an organization focused on helping corporations measure and manage their carbon emissions in a climate change economy.
Mr Pasieka’s board experience consists of chairing the Audit Committee of Iseemedia (TSX-V) - a Canadian Wireless Software company and the HR committee of Luxell Technologies (TSX) – a Canadian Aerospace company from 2005 to July 2008. In addition he sits on the Advisory Board of NTG Clarity Networks and Luxell Technologies. He is also a member of the faculty of the McMaster Not-For-Profit Governance Institute where he lectures on director selection and board evaluation.
Mr Pasieka earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Business Administration from York University. In addition, he has completed his Chartered Director designation at McMaster University.
Living in Oakville for the past 25 years, Mr Pasieka has developed a sense of community at home. In his free time he enjoys time on the golf course or ski slopes with his family and friends.

Mike Russill joined WWF-Canada as President and CEO in 2004. Under his leadership WWF Canada increased its revenues by nearly 90% and has broadened its conservation reach into Climate Change and Freshwater.
Mike spent thirty-years in the private energy sector, with Shell Canada Inc., Petro-Canada Inc. and Suncor Inc. At Suncor he held several Vice-President assignments; Strategic Integration, Business Services (finance, HR and administration), and Retail.
Mike served as Executive Chairman of Aadco Automotive, an environmentally focused automotive recycling company, and the first to receive Canada’s Eco logo.
He has served as a Director on a number of Boards including Nature Conservancy of Canada, CS Able Ltd. USA, Pioneer Petroleum Limited, UPI Petroleum. Mike is past Chairman of the Atlantic Petroleum Association, and the Ontario Region of the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute.
He is a member of the Advisory Boards of the School Of Management at Dalhousie University, Green living Enterprises and Sustainable Prosperity. Mike is a frequent speaker on Business and Sustainability.
He graduated from Ryerson in Business Administration and completed the Western Executive Program and the University of Michigan Human Resources Executive Program.
Mike is married to Karen and they have three grown children. His interests include spending time at the family cottage, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and golfing.

Sheryl Watson is presently the General Counsel and Vice President Human Resources at ADESA Canada. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1986. Ms. Watson holds many professional memberships, including the Institute of Corporate Directors and she is currently Director of the Board of the Jean Tweed Centre.

Robert Wickham has been a Chartered Accountant since 1982 and became a Chartered Director in 2005. Throughout his career he worked as a senior finance executive in both Canadian and American capital markets. Most recently, Mr. Wickham was President and Director with Trizec Canada Inc. He is currently the Director of Alpine Ontario.
