Oakville Hydro Receives Industry Performance Excellence Award

(Oakville, ON) March 1, 2016 – Oakville Hydro is proud to announce that it received the 2015 Performance Excellence Award from the Electricity Distributors Association (EDA), recognizing the organization as an exceptional leader in the industry.

“We are honoured to receive such a prestigious award,” said Rob Lister, President and CEO of Oakville Hydro.  “Our employees demonstrate a remarkable level of commitment each day to provide the highest level of performance excellence through every facet of the organization.  I am proud to accept this award on behalf of our extraordinary team.”

The Ontario Power Generation LDC Performance Excellence Award is presented to a local electricity distribution company that has distinguished itself among its peers by performance excellence in the following areas during 2015: occupational health and safety, operational excellence, financial operations, retail strategies for conservation and demand management, and contribution to community.

Throughout 2015, Oakville Hydro excelled in each of the categories, including:  

  • Achieving industry-leading service reliability and system performance
  • Championing the ‘Stayin’ Alive’ employee health and safety program
  • Launching the Outage Management System allowing customers to view outage information through an online, real-time map which offers a visual representation of current power outages
  • Receiving an excellent customer satisfaction score of 92%
  • Actively engaging in the Oakville community
