About the Program

The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program (ERIP)is designed to encourage energy-efficiency improvements for business customers. Eligible projects include upgraded lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electric motors and transformers.

There are two elements to the ERIP program. Improvement projects can include a prescriptive series of pre-defined measures, for which a specific financial incentive is offered. Alternatively, there is a process for evaluating custom projects for which a fixed incentive is applied. By offering this flexibility, the program will encourage not only the more conventional retrofit projects but also those that involve more specialized activities.
